Twitter: How It Is Used by Businesses

Businesses cannot survive without their customers. So constantly these businesses find ways to improve their products and services just to please their customers. They have used all sorts of media to be able to do this. And now because of the boom of Twitter in the World Wide Web, businesses can use Twitter as a means of connecting to their customers.

How can businesses use Twitter as means of getting customers?

First is you need to open a Twitter account. Once you have one, follow people who have great influence in the Twitter world. You may also follow groups in Twitter as well. Make comments on other people posts so that potential customers will see you. One tip also is to follow celebrities since they have a lot of followers. You may ask them to follow you back as well, since their fans tend to follow the pages their favorite stars are following.

How can Twitter help businesses?

There are a lot of people who does not complain directly to the company involved but complain it to the world. That is very bad for business. Twitter can help you in this aspect. What you can do is to search your company's name or your product's name, and you will see the tweets regarding it. You respond right away assuring them and letting them know that you will attend to their concerns right away.

You may also make comments of people who have tweeted something good about the product that you have or any services that you offer. Let your customers know that you appreciate them. You may as well do business with these customers. You may hire them and tweet about your products most of the time, this way their followers will be able to read them and you might attract potential customers as well.

Aside from that, Twitter will give you a way to personally be in touch with your customers. This is your chance to build relationships with them. It lessens that gap between you and your customers. It also promotes trust.

The World Wide Web offers a lot of businesses with websites like Twitter and gives them a chance to improve their services and be one step closer to their customers. This way, there is more intimate contact between the service providers and customers and this way friendly competitions among competitors are build.

At first people think that using Twitter and other social networking sites are merely for fun and for building relationships. There were mainly made for that purpose as well. But due to some need and as well as innovation, a lot of things have been connected and discovered regarding these sites.

The Social Media Optimization Expert

A social media optimization expert is one who has the skills and experience in the field of optimizing a company's social media marketing efforts as well as its overall online presence. To be an effective social media optimization (SMO) practitioner, one must be able to provide attentive and active social media optimization services that are geared towards engaging the target market, diverting traffic, increasing visibility, and boosting the sales performance of the client's website.

SMO should not be confused with search engine optimization (SEO) as there are distinct differences. SEO is the process of optimizing a website for the purpose of obtaining a favorable ranking with the major search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing. This requires some work to be done on the site's elements such as the content pages, headers, title, and meta tags. SMO, on the other hand, is focused more on making the site, its business message, and contents accessible and easy for the target audience to understand. Instead of search engines, online users are the main targets of SMO thrusts.

Because the target audience is the main focus of SMO, a friendly tone and a more personal touch are usually required. This is in stark contrast to the cold and emotionless codes and tags commonly associated with SEO efforts. It is therefore important for the social media optimization expert to be very familiar with the target demographics and how to reach out to them. The convenience provided by the social network sites today makes it easier for SMO professional to accomplish these tasks.

The primary objective of SMO is to produce successful marketing results by creating a social buzz about the client's site using various social marketing venues and services. This includes social network sites, blogs, vblogs, micro-blogging platforms, RSS feeds, message boards, discussion forums, 3rd party widgets, and other similar sites and applications.

If you think you are in need of expert SMO services, you need to consider a few things before deciding to hire one. First, you must determine what your specific needs are and find out if the prospective SMO provider can meet those needs. Normally, SMO experts are called in to perform services in areas such as social media marketing (Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube), keyword forensics, expert SEO advice, syndication, social stimulus, management and repair of damaged reputation, and other related services.

The SMO specialist must also be adept at employing the latest leveraging techniques and how they can help ensure success for your company. Ultimately, the consultant must be able to help increase your website's conversion rate. This is why the SMO consultant must also be adept and experienced in search engine optimization techniques as a lot of factors depend on the ability of the website to draw significant targeted traffic.

After all, without traffic, no amount of buzz created by social media marketing can improve the overall sales performance. SEO and SMO must therefore work together and complement each other. The social media optimization expert that you will hire must be able to address that very important concern.

Traffic Generation: Blogging For Visitors

Blogging is an excellent way to get more visitors to your website. If your site is a blog then you already have this taken care of. If you just have a standard HTML website you'll certainly want to consider adding a blog to your site as well. The search engines tend to rank blogs very highly and it's easy for you to update the content or to outsource it to your writers.

Tip #1 - Search Engine Optimize Your Blog

The first thing you need to do after you set up your blog is to make sure it is search engine "friendly". That means adding some plug-ins and optimizing your content.

A popular plugin you'll want to check out is the All in One SEO Pack.

You should also change your Permalink setting in the admin area to %permalink%, because that will optimize the titles of your entries. Instead of each post having a long URL composed of numbers and letters, it will contain your title.

This will help you rank higher so you can get more traffic.

Tip #2 - Optimize your content

You should definitely make sure that your blog content is optimized for search engines. That means doing your keyword research and including your keyword in the title, first paragraph, body, and last paragraph. Your content should be relevant to your niche, and you should link to internal pages in your website to give your site an extra boost.

Tip #3 - Ping your blog.

Pinging your blog is very important because it alerts the search engines and blog search engines when you update your contact.

WordPress (the most popular blogging platform) automatically pings your blog entries for you if you tell it to.

Tip #4 - Submit your site to RSS feed engines.

There are sites out there that are dedicated to collecting blog feeds so that readers can quickly and easily find blogs they are interested in many niche topics. These readers are great because they syndicate your content by using your RSS feed, and they also give you a link back to your blog.

There are many different sites out there, but the most popular is Technorati.com

This is where many people go to search for blogs they might be interested in. You can also claim your blog at the site, which has its own benefits. If you update your blog you want to save each page as a favorite in Technorati. Other people can then pick up on your content, and you will get more traffic as a result.

Tip #5 - Blog often.

The more often you blog, the more often your site will get spidered. This means that new blog posts will be indexed in the search engines quickly and you will start to become a "favorite." This doesn't mean you have to blog every day (though it helps). Just post as often and as consistently as you are comfortable with.

Both people and the search engines like to see freshly updated content. That means you'll see a lot more traffic if you're able to add a few new blog posts per week or so.

For example, you may want to make it a habit to blog at least three times every week around the same time. If people get a feel for when it's a good time to stop by they will visit more often. Best of all, people will start passing out your blog link and you'll get more links and more people visiting than ever before.

Web 2.0 And Social Bookmarking: A Marketer's Savior

Marketers haven't always had it easy. There was once a time when they had to struggle and go through grueling and time-consuming processes like demographic information researching and market segmentation. This was during the internet era of Web 1.0. Those were dark, dark times for marketers all over the world. They needed someone, or something to help them make it through. They needed a savior.

People started to criticize Web 1.0 for being too inclined with HTML while it doesn't even consider important aspects like the establishment of social connections and social interactions. People wanted a new web platform to make up for all the restrictions, limitations and deficiencies. Then came the savior that internet marketers were asking for. Then came the dawn of a new internet era: the Web 2.0 and social bookmarking era that was hell bent on making social connections and networks among the members of the community.

Web 2.0 refers to a website that performs unique and attractive functions. These sites' main focus is to establish social connections and networks among the internet users of the world. Social bookmarking is a process in Web 2.0 that involves the saving or storing of relevant bookmarks on to social bookmarking websites, and the tagging of these bookmarks with the appropriate keywords that would let users search for and locate them with ease.

These two innovations have greatly benefited internet marketers around the world. But they have also contributed so much to the community in general. For one, Web 2.0 and social bookmarking have made the process of communication and interaction for people from different parts of the world much easier. These innovations have also made it possible to search for and locate information on the internet with ease. This was because of tagging which is also known as folksonomy.

As for internet marketers, their lives were made so much more easy and peaceful because of the emergence of Web 2.0 and social bookmarking. Because of these innovations, internet marketers don't have to worry about doing tedious demographic researches and trying to segment markets as Web 2.0 and social bookmarking does all these for them! Internet marketers could just skip those processes and focus on analyzing the demographic information provided to be able to determine consumer tastes, preferences, wants and needs. Internet marketers would find it very easy to develop strategies and techniques to help them market their businesses to consumers more effectively.

Web 2.0 and social bookmarking also allows marketers to advertise their business to millions of people in their networks. This would lead to increased web traffic, increased page rankings, and of course increased profits for the internet marketer.

In short, Web 2.0 and social bookmarking gives internet marketers the ability to enjoy tremendous awards while lessening their work at the same time. These innovations are truly saviors to internet marketers all over the world.

The author is from Seattle, Washington. He has been doing affiliate marketing over a year now and wants to share his observation on how one survives with that business. His project now is Bookmarking Demon

How Should Journalists View Social Networking Platforms?

Then, using Google Maps, the paper was able to direct a reporter and a photographer to her home. The paper claimed that by cross-referencing online sources it had 'put our people on Sperling's doorstep'.

What's missing here is any indication that the paper's reporters and editors had considered any ethical implications of what they were doing.

That Facebook's privacy settings allow 'users to leapfrog through' one person to another is claimed as a justification, rather than a problem.

There is no reflexive consideration that the paper itself is breaching someone's privacy and trust in pursuit of a story, just a claim that the paper had done it before: 'It wasn't the first time we had achieved this'.

In an email response from the paper, senior reporter David Fisher wrote that Facebook users have an individual responsibility to maintain their own privacy settings and that on this story 'it was about being honest with the readers'.

One of the first codes of ethics for reporters relating to how to manage their social networking activities was produced by the New York Times in January 2009.

In the preamble, the Times' assistant editor Craig Whitney sets the tone and highlights the value of Twitter and Facebooks for reporters: 'Facebook can help reporters do triangulation on difficult-to- research subjects.

What people write on social networking sites is publicly available information, like anything posted on any site that is not encrypted.'

In this statement the Times is clearly establishing the principle (rightly or wrongly) that whatever is posted to social networking sites is public information and available to news organizations without the permission of the copyright holder or reference to privacy issues.

Instead, the guidelines appear to be predominantly about protecting the company's brand and this is also a major concern for the business news agency Bloomberg.

The first statement in the New York Times code relates to political stance or controversial groups and staffers flagging their own political beliefs in cyberspace: '.. do nothing that might cast doubt on your or The Times's political impartiality in reporting the news.'

The Associated Press rules are similar, with the emphasis being on protecting the reputation of the brand rather than the ethical use of social networking for news-gathering (Associated Press, 2009).

The New York Times code also calls into question the status of friendship on sites such as MySpace, Facebook and Twitter:.. being a "friend" of someone on Facebook or especially Myspace is almost meaningless and does not signify the worth nor kind of relationship that could pose a conflict of interest for a reporter or editor investigating that person.' This 'rule' finally ends up justifying the slash and burn approach to social networking friends.

Why does the rule about this have to differ from more traditional journalistic contacts? As well as dealing only perfunctorily with privacy, there's no mention here of confidentiality. What about treating information you glean on Facebook as 'off-the- record'? If a real friend tells you something that you might think is newsworthy enough to report, would you do it without asking their permission?

Would you do it by compromising their relationship with an employer or lover, for example? If you have any ethical boundaries at all, probably not. Why should information gathered through social networking sites be treated differently? There are millions of Facebookers who would disagree that their virtual friendships are almost meaningless.

Just What Makes a Blog Successful?

The internet blogosphere is a very large and sometimes very lonely place. It's never been easier to get your own piece of internet real estate and there is always room for one more site. As a result, the number of blogs in existence has exploded in recent years and shows no sign of abating, yet how do these new bloggers find people to read their posts? Where do their visitors come from? The simple truth is that many of the blogs out there are attracting very small numbers of visitors with some attracting none at all. Some are nothing more than labors of love by their owners. Only a small handful of bloggers will ever make it to blog superstardom and attract the thousands of daily visitors needed to achieve it. But how do these blogs do it?

The answer lies in hard work and quality content. There's no secret formula and no magic button hidden away on a long lost web page. These bloggers have grasped what makes a successful blog and chased it down to give their readers what they need and want. First and foremost, readers are looking for high quality, informative and engaging content. While many people can provide this by writing well on subjects of interest, fewer achieve the level of originality in their articles and posts that keeps readers coming back day after day. A well written and high quality post must be combined with an angle or viewpoint that readers can't find elsewhere on the internet. The blogger must put their very own stamp on the page, making the subject their own, no matter what it is.

A returning readership is something that every blog needs. New readers will find the blog in small numbers over time, but the returning readership is what makes the blog successful and sees the daily traffic levels grow consistently. It is these returning readers that will form your best marketing tool, but only if you can consistently give them what they are looking for. Your goal is to publish posts that your readers love and will be willing to tell others about. Word of mouth is by far the best recommendation and the most effective form of marketing you can have on your side.

Even once a blog is offering this original content, success is not guaranteed. The blog marketing and promotion machine must roll into action. Since the blogosphere is so big, it can be difficult for any single site to stand out from the crowd and be noticed. The blogger has to push and promote the blog in every corner of the internet just to get noticed. Again, there is no easy one-click way of doing this. It takes knowledge, skill, determination and above all, time and patience. The successful blogger becomes expert not only in writing good posts, but also in networking with other blog owners, backlink creation, article marketing, guest blogging and all manner of internet marketing techniques.

The sheer number of blogs in existence means it's highly unlikely your blog will float to the top of a very high pile based on quality of content alone. If you are committed and willing to learn and spend the time to promote your blog, there's a chance you could be one of the few that makes it.

Social Media Marketing - How It Can Help You

Social media marketing can be defined as the process of selling or promoting products and services through social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. The use of the internet's social aspect enables the social media marketer to connect and interact with the target demographic or audience on a more dynamic and personal level than what can be achieved through conventional marketing methods.

The internet marketing strategies employed can be as simple as having a Twitter account or a company blog, and attaching Digg or Twitter tags at the bottom of the articles; or something more complicated as launching full-blown campaigns that include social networking and viral videos posted on YouTube, blogs and tweets. Of course the strategy will depend on the target audience and how comprehensive it is intended to be.

Tagging blog entries and articles to facilitate submission, and voting on Digg and other social news sites are the simplest forms of social media marketing. You may have seen some examples of this strategy in action though you may not be aware of it. If you read an online article with a "Share This" widget towards the end, or you happen to encounter a Digg vote counter on a web page, then you have already seen one way to do marketing through social media. This style of internet marketing is very easy to implement as it is usually automated. Especially for media firms, this can be highly effective and can be very powerful in promoting company blogs.

* Twitter - This social networking site has outgrown its humble micro-blogging origins and has started to fulfill its great potential for internet marketing. Today, it can be likened to a company blog. But although the primary goal is to spread the word, providing a more personal touch as opposed to RSS feeds is the key to success in promoting blogs or press releases. It is also a great way to interact with followers and clients.

* Social Networking - As social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook have become tremendously popular worldwide, it has almost become imperative for most businesses to establish presence and set up accounts with them. There are many other less popular but specialized social network sites that, depending on your products and services, may be perfect for promotional purposes. Because social networks provide a venue where customers can interact with the marketer as well as with fellow customers, this can propel the marketing effort to go viral.

* Blogs - In some ways, they can be used for traditional media promotions. Just as dailies, magazines, and other traditional media forms are used for review copies, popular blog spots on the specific niche can also be used.

* YouTube - Although this can prove to be more expensive and time-consuming, YouTube may be ideal to focus a huge marketing campaign on as this provides a great opportunity to interact with your client base. Constant interaction with customers is a great way to build brand loyalty. You can find a lot of successful social media marketing efforts that center around viral videos on YouTube.

Are You Managing To Earn The Trust of Your Blog Readers?

Creating and setting up a blog goes past content generation; it's about building relations with your fans and giving them worth on a constant basis, without which it's going to be tough for you to increase trust on your blog. But all is undeniably not lost, and this text is going to give you some guidelines to meet this challenge.

Generally it's the beginner blogs who have unrealistic expectations about traffic. Blogging for beginners is not always as simple as it sounds. But if you aren't taking any steps to engage your readers then you're really going to have issues getting them to trust your blog. If there aren't any feelings one way or the other, then they'll look around and leave. Basically that's something many experienced bloggers do - they without delay inspire readers to get involved and give their opinions, and so on. There are so many things you can do, and for instance a video can be useful because they should click it to start it, and then hopefully they will watch it to the end.

Those are the types of things that may be effective if you say the smart things or ask the right questions.

We are hoping you know already that glorious content will help enormously, and it may be able to compensate for lessened quality in other areas like poor navigation. If you're going to give them content that everyone else is giving then they will have no reason to trust you for quality. Learn how to compare solid content that offers value with the facility to be trusted. Content that is well-researched will get swiped, for sure, so get ready to send out DMCA take-down notices because it will occur. Since none of that's hard to do, you can see that in some respects winning the trust of your audience is simple. The opposite side of that equation for content needs it to have meaning for your fans.

So never ignore the significance of having the correct type of content on your blog because that is what ultimately makes you stand out, and turns your blog into a trustworthy resource.

Take an over-view of your blog and determine if anything can be made better. Your blog content needs to be the very best you can make it because that is one thing that folk will truly take away with them. It's your blog readers and targeted traffic that you need to take care of at every point.

Perhaps try and do not forget that working on trust is the same as meeting folks in your life, you do things and they respond to it one way or another.

Establishing and growing trust in what your blog offers is more than doable, and you must believe you can do that. As you move ahead, you may across many different ideas that may help you garner even more trust on your blog.

Why Should I Have My Own Site On WordPress Vs A Facebook Page?

When promoting your business through the internet, the most important thing is reaching the biggest amount of people as possible.

Anyone even slightly privy to the online world knows that Facebook, which has in excess of 750 million users, is the perfect place to reach those people.

So why not just have a Facebook page for your business?

Facebook Is All About Social Networks

Firstly Facebook is constructed as a social networking medium, not a directory of businesses.

Things are generally kept unofficial and informal, and people are unlikely to 'like' your businesses page (and hence give you greater exposure and standing) if it does not effectively raise their own social standing on the site.

This atmosphere also means that only having a Facebook page also adds an air of unprofessionalism to your business, as the site is mainly used to provide customers with relevant news and special deals, while also creating an interactive environment between business and customer.

You Need More Than Facebook

People wanting to learn more about the business would likely form a negative opinion if they could only access information about a business on Facebook.

To them it would seem a touch 'half-baked" if the only steps taken by that business to become significant on the internet as to create a free Facebook page.

To them it would seem a touch 'half-baked" if the only steps taken by that business to become significant on the internet as to create a free Facebook page.

Facebook Real Estate Belongs to Facebook - You Do Not Control Your Page

The layout of Facebook is also a big problem for a business whose internet exposure relies solely on the site; while information can be listed, the presentation is limited.

Though other tabs can be added, the main info tab presents your information as 'basic information'. For businesses this is all a Facebook page is designed for; to give customers a brief run down on what your business is about, and to allow to post about your business in short status updates.

Any extensive information such as product listings, personnel, and related articles would be difficult to display on a Facebook page, and infuriating for the customer to read (think of just one page loaded with information, which is not easily navigated).

You could list these things through status updates, but once again navigating through these would be exasperating, and as status updates are presented through chronological order, it would be impossible to group or list them in any significant way.

All these problems can be easily solved by using a WordPress site in tandem with a Facebook page.

While Facebook does provide significant help in attracting more customers, currently it cannot compare in terms of layout to a WordPress site, which are specifically designed to counter all the problems that a Facebook page encounters (such as layout, ease of navigation, amount and type of information, etc).

For a business Facebook should be consider as an opportunity to attract an audience through social networking.

Following that attraction it makes sense to lead your audience to a place where you have full control and you are able to systematically convert that audience to customers.

How You Can Make A List Using Facebook

All of you have heard the saying, "the money is in the list". This really is very true today and will be for the foreseeable future. Having a great subscriber list is a fantastic way to let people know as soon as you have updated your website or your blog and as you you have new products or services that they may very well be interested in. Possibly you have a new product and need to get the word out fast. Facebook is a very good means to make that happen. If using Facebook is a very good way to get your message out and building your subscriber list is the best method to make money, how are you going to combine the two? How can you use Facebook to produce a great subscriber list?

The conventional way that a business person gets others to subscribe is by placing a sign up form on their website. This is a fantastic way to get subscribers, but there's a different way that may be even better. This is a strategy for those of you who want to use Facebook in conjunction with building your list.

First, create your Facebook page

Obviously, this is the very first thing that you need to do. If you don't have a Facebook page yet, you will need to go to Facebook pages to start creating your page. In case you are not really sure what you would like your page to look like, check out different business Facebook pages to generate some ideas. This way you can see precisely how the page is structured and what you should include on it. Don't forget to include links to your website from this page.

When people visit your Facebook page, you would like to have them register to be a subscriber. It's alright to ask them to 'like' your page, however it is a lot more effective to have them sign up. Having them sign up gives you their email address. So, how should you get people to register when they are on your Facebook page?

Build a Facebook subscriber list

You can build a subscriber list that is only associated with your Facebook page. This way, when you send something out to your subscriber list, you are able to put the notification on your Facebook page. Then, those people who have 'liked' your page will receive the notice in their feeds. If they happen to be interested by your articles, that may bring them back to your Facebook page.

You can also send visitors to your website from your Facebook page by offering a free report or free eBook. It is possible to put the notification on your page and then direct people to your website to sign up on your subscriber form to then get your free report.

This procedure is certainly better than just having people 'like' your page because they're signing up on your subscriber form so you then have their email address.

However, sometimes it is more difficult to get others to leave your Facebook page then actually sign up for your free report on your website. One of the simplest ways may very well be for you to combine the two approaches. Use your traffic campaigns to get people to your Facebook page and then occasionally put an invitation on your page to tell people about your freebie if they go to your website and sign up. Again, it is important for you to test to see what will work for you and what will work for your business.

So, how do you use Facebook to construct your list? Offer your visitors both opportunities. Offer your visitors who like to hear what's going on with your business the opportunity to 'like' your page and after that use their feeds for updates and also offer your visitors the opportunity to go to your website to register as a subscriber and receive a free eBook or report. Just test what works best for your target audience.

Are You Guilty of Sharing TMI (Too Much Information) on Facebook? Find Out Now

When on Facebook do you ever come across a post that gives you this reaction... "I didn't want to know that!"? Even some smart people post some dumb things on Facebook. Below is a general guideline of what not to post on Facebook.

Do Not Post:
Anything you are doing that is illegal! No pictures of you and friends doing drugs! Employers are starting to search profiles before hiring people and this type of post could haunt you or your friends in the future, even if you no longer engage in that behavior. You wouldn't want a post to be used as evidence in a trial would you?
Intimate details about a sexual encounter or relationship. That's why they are called intimate details as opposed to public details. We don't want to know and people who do want to know should get their own life!
Results of GYN check up or even that you went! But if you are ill, or recovering from cancer or something not GYN related, you can post about that. I am sure your friends would like to hear about it and support your recovery.
Lies about anyone. That would just be rude. Follow the golden rule... "do unto others..."
Any fact that you could ever want to be a secret in the future... "just got out of jail" for example.
Nude photos of yourself or others and especially young babies (some people think what is the harm with babies). A baby has definitely not given their consent and you wouldn't want to get prosecuted for child pornography.
Ugly statements about your current boss or the company you work for. (Unless you are trying to get fired of course).
Something about someone you are furious at, IF you may feel differently later, after calming down and finding out the whole story. It is hard to un-ring a bell.
When overly drunk or otherwise intoxicated. (same rule applies to email) Your judgment is likely to be off, and you may later regret what you post.
Frequent conversation with your spouse. That is what phones and face to face communication is for. Perhaps your therapist would enjoy the insight into your relationship communication, but the rest of us just wonder why you aren't talking to your spouse instead of us.
Your birth date, address, phone number, social security number or the like, for identity theft reasons.
Obvious things that help evil people out, like "I'm on vacation" which translates to: "my house is vulnerable to break-in." However, if you use Facebook only for close friends and relatives and your privacy settings are high, you may not mind doing this, as posting pictures while on vacation is extremely common and many would argue a good reason to use Facebook. How else can you proudly rub it in everyone elses face at once, that you are on an awesome vacation. To be safer, it would be better to post after you return home.

Recommendations to Create an Effective Social Marketing Campaign

Advertising on any platform, from billboards to television to banners, print or online formats, is becoming more social. But although there are numerous examples of social marketing campaigns very sophisticated, highly innovative technology-based tools like Facebook Connect, create a social advertising campaign that is available to any advertiser, regardless of the budget.

If you create a smart campaign, it will be possible to integrate the various activities with social media, and thus get much more out of your investment by creating a community to be able to go at any time and make the action last longer. The keys to developing a social marketing campaign really effective include the following:

Use the appropriate platform - When talking about social advertising, Facebook is the first thing that comes to many people at the top but, although it is an excellent platform for social campaigns it is not always the best tool on which to focus all marketing efforts. In addition, many more brands turn to Facebook to promote their products and attract fans.

But there are many platforms that can be used for social advertising. LinkedIn opened to advertisers last year through a self-service platform that can segment the audience based on different characteristics, and is a perfect alternative, especially for B2B companies. On the other hand, emerging social networks and new tools such as Foursquare geo-tagging and other platforms can be very useful for advertisers with lower budgets, while offering high visibility among its users.

What is interesting about these new platforms is that you do not need a great technical display or design to be effective, simply to understand social media marketing and new platforms that users are experiencing.

Combine media. If you want to create a truly effective social marketing campaign, online video can have a major role in it. The online video consumption is growing, so it represents a unique opportunity to bring your ad to life. People want that advertising is not static, that it entertains and offers really interesting content.

But for brands, online video is both an opportunity and a challenge. The relevance of your ads will be in its ability to act as a means of entertainment. You have to have fun, laugh at yourself and call the attention of viewers. But beyond that, we must be able to meet the distribution effort of contents and creating specific campaigns for the video being posted on sites like YouTube.

Campaigns must have a reason to be social. There are few ads today that do not include an "f" "or a "t" that advertisers use as a measuring tool in social media and provide a social aspect to campaign. But the impact of these logos on consumers is minimal, since many do not even include a URL or a call to action.

Instead, the ads more social forces have a reason to include these social elements. Sometimes, the only purpose of these ads is to promote social presence itself, while in others the ad promotes the next step, which must be made through a social platform to get some kind of reward.

Do not think social media is free. It is true that advertising on social media manages to extract from small budgets large results because it is easier to get more users with less competition. The problem is that many brands expect this to work without spending any money.

But if you really want your campaign to produce results and provide social networking, you have to invest money and time. To develop a social marketing campaign, make sure that your ads have the necessary visibility in the advertising plan to achieve the results you seek.

Online Reputation: Tools and Tips to Manage Effectively

Recently, a friend told me about a negative incident she had while dining at a large restaurant chain. Her waitress was very rude and inattentive. By the time her meal arrived, her colleague had finished eating. The last straw was realizing her steak was prepared wrong. Angrily, she took out her iPhone and sent out a tweet to her followers about her experience. Minutes later, she received an apology from the restaurant's general manager; the cost of her meal was waived; and she was given a $100 gift certificate for a future visit. Imagine if that restaurant chain didn't have a social media presence? What you don't know can harm you!

"It takes many good deeds to build a good reputation, and only one bad one to lose it." Benjamin Franklin

Do you know what people are saying about you, your business or brand? Whether you are managing one or all, your online reputation is extremely important.

According to a recent study at Forrester Customer Experience Forum, a single negative comment using a social media platform, can equate to a loss of 30 potential clients. Can your business afford such a loss? If the answer is NO, then read on for tools and tips:

7 Tools to monitor your reputation regularly
Blog Pulse: an automated trend discovery system for blogs. This search engine analyzes and reports on daily activity in the blogosphere.
Board Tracker: a message tracking and instant alerts system designed to provide relevant information quickly and efficiently while ensuring you never miss an important forum thread.
Google Alerts: updates sent via email of the latest relevant Google results based on your choice of query or topic.
Social Mention Alerts: a social media search and analysis platform that aggregates user generated content from across the universe into a single stream of information. It allows you to easily track and measure what people are saying about you, your company, a new product, or any topic across the web's social media landscape in real-time.
Technorati: a search engine that indexes blogs. Find mentions of your blog or specific keywords across other blogs. Subscribe to the search results feed and get notified of new mentions. http://technorati.com/
Trackur: pulls keyword mentions from a variety of sources, not just Google Alerts, but its biggest use comes from the ability to save, sort, tag, share and subscribe to particular feeds.
Yahoo Alerts: a notification service that instantly informs you of what you consider important and relevant via instant message, email or cell phone.

Unfortunately, you can't control the actions of other people. You can however, have a positive influence over the outcome. Here are:

5 Tips on handling negative criticism
Handle the situation or issue immediatelyListen with an open mind and use the 'criticism' as a way to improveThank the person for his/her feedbackApologize... and apologize againExplain how you will rectify the situation or issue

So, why do you need to create an online presence? It's simple, if you don't control your reputation, someone else will.

Social Media Marketing Consultant - What It Takes to Be One

What is a social media marketing consultant? You can find a lot of self-proclaimed social media experts and social media consultants online, but those who are real specialists in the field of social media marketing are harder to come by. As a career option, it is not as common as web design or search engine optimization (SEO). The ease of social networking and publishing blogs online today provides the impression that there is a bigger number of qualified and experienced consultants than there really is.

Although there is currently a dearth for social media marketing experts today, there are lots of job opportunities in the market. After all, almost all businesses with online presence, especially those that are, in one way or another, involved in it, are in need of one. Unfortunately, a lot of those who have relevant experience, tend to overstate their current skills and abilities. For one, the job entails more than just experience and knowledge in the set up of accounts for blogging sites and other social network sites like Twitter and Facebook.

So what does it take to be a social media marketing consultant? A keen understanding of social content planning and the personas involved is of primary importance, as well as sufficient social network research and development work. The job also requires some experience in social content promotion, actual SEO, and social monitoring and analysis of relevant reports and insights. Although possible, it is not very likely that a kid just 3 or 4 years out of college can have that much experience.

To be a specialist in the field of social media marketing, the right training and sufficient experience are required. Even without actually holding a formal job as one, relevant experience can be obtained through various ways. Here are some of them:

* Actual document experience on a blogging or personal site

* Becoming a super user with social networking applications

* After having acquired the basic skills, offering free services to small businesses or non-profit organizations, or you can start marketing a personal site

* Active on and offline participation on networks that are relevant to your niche or focus areas which may include particular industries, demographics or geographical units

When searching for jobs you may be qualified for, it will greatly help to highlight your skills and competencies with samples of your work, and include them in all your profiles with various social network sites. If you do not have samples of actual work you have done yet, you can offer sample audits of companies that you intend to work with. You can also provide your own insights on the work of others.

Whether you intend to work for an employer or to manage your own social media marketing consulting business, it is important to keep on learning as the field is too dynamic and changes can happen often and quickly. The job of a social media marketing consultant can be very lucrative, but it will all depend on the quality of work you can offer, and the results you can deliver to your clients.

Where Facebook Began Its Journey

Facebook began as a small social network that was meant purely for college students, not so long ago. Some say this was just an experiment; but even if it was one, it has emerged as a major success story. Surely, no college student would have ever imagined that this network could become a generator of millions of dollars.

Indeed, just a few years on, Facebook has emerged as a successful social media network that has brought people from far and wide much closer together than email and instant messengers could have. Previously, it was thought that globalization had perhaps reached its highest point in close coordination, when instant messengers and email became widely used, and even online conferencing with visuals had people further believe that this was truly the case. Facebook, however, has taken all this a leap further, as it has enabled people to develop entire neighborhoods, cities, countries, ideologies, movements, etc. online.

The online groups formed through social media such as Facebook are not just virtual groups; they are now known to be motivated and active campaigns too. An example of this is the establishment of social movements through Facebook that result in action on the streets, such as drives to help the poor and downtrodden. Apart from this, many other activities have been organized and have resulted in thousands and millions of people getting together for a given cause.

While Facebook has served as a platform on which many have begun to organize themselves, a lot of work has been put in by designers and programmers to make it all possible. If they had not been part of the overall operation, hardly any of the things that you see on Facebook would actually materialize. These individuals have made a massive contribution to the various kinds of pages and groups that have emerged.

In fact, the landscape of Facebook applications has been purely produced by these individuals. They are in fact the people that organizations, brands, etc. turn to when they need to develop an application for themselves.

Facebook application developers are available as individuals who can get the job done for you, and they are also available through organizations that have entire teams of them working together on very large projects. The latter is thought to be a viable scenario, as a great deal can be managed when many developers work together to produce large and complex applications. Indeed, there seems to be no shortage of talented individuals who are capable of managing their tasks, and it also seems quite apparent that more and more people are becoming aware that these individuals and organizations are the ones to turn to when they need to project their causes, organizations, brands, etc.

Social Media Marketing Expert - On Becoming One

Regardless of your purpose for establishing an online presence for your business, you will require the services of a social media marketing expert - if you are not yet one, that is. Whether it is to manage a profitable business, push a particular marketing effort, be popular, expand your community, internet marketing through social media is the key. For one, it is currently the most efficient among all possible options available.

To become an expert in the field of social media marketing, you need to seriously consider three important things - brand development, being public, and technology immersion. All these three concerns need to be addressed. Otherwise, it will be very difficult to succeed.

- Brand Development - If you are a sole proprietor promoting your own products and services, it is important to consider developing yourself as your own brand. If you can establish yourself as an authority in your specific field, people will begin to listen to you and identify your products with your own brand. This will also help provide a distinct flavor to what you are offering online, and will help distinguish it from other competing products or services.

- Being Public - For your products and services to be in the consciousness of your target market, you must first find a way to make them known. Obviously, no well-patronized brand is not known, at least locally (if not globally), or within a particular organization or demographic. This can only be achieved through exposure and to be a successful social media marketing expert, you need to learn how to do that.

- Technology Immersion - The beauty of modern technology is that it allows you to do a lot of things at the same time without having to be physically present to do them. Of course, this will require that you are well-versed in the proper use of such technological wonders as a personal computer, the internet, and the telephone. A keen understanding of how social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook work will facilitate the proper implementation of your social media marketing campaigns.

Realizing the power of social media will help you appreciate their contribution to the success of your online business. Success may not be too difficult to achieve if you know how to utilize the various tools at your disposal. If you feel you are not yet ready to do the social media marketing yourself, you may consider contracting the services of an expert in the field and let the specialist do the job for you.

As there are many self-proclaimed experts out there, you must be able to distinguish the real ones from pretenders. The ideal candidate must have the necessary experience and a good track record to show for it. You may request him to discuss his experiences with other clients. The consultant must also be able to discuss with you how you can get a return on you investment and the timeframe for achieving that. Finally, the social media marketing expert must also be adept in applying various search engine optimization techniques that will complement the social media marketing efforts.

Advantages of Blogging - How Blogging Can Help Increase SEO

Despite the popularity of Twitter and Facebook and Tumblr, people continue to post to blogs. Blogging platforms provide users with a simple way of instantly publishing material - everything from a crafted, lengthy essay to embedded videos and pictures. Though some SEO/SMO firms may emphasize work via social media as part of your online marketing plan, content continues to drive visitors, and blogging is an important exercise that can raise awareness of your brand and increase your authority.

Blogging as a means of promotion is a good way to boost your main site's search engine optimization as well. Let's consider the advantages of maintaining a blog as part of your online market strategy.

Content is King, Relevance is Key

The best way to draw visitors regularly to a site is to offer something new every time they come. Your core audience is more likely to share your URL and information if you have something to give, and blogging provides a good way to get content live and distributed easily. Whether you have a blog connected to your main site or separate, you are more likely to gain high positions in relevant search by having updated content on hand. You don't have to write a book every day - even a few paragraphs about your products, services, or events can help.

Create Variety, Blend Search Results

As major engines like Yahoo and Google move toward a blended paradigm in search that pulls results consisting of more than static sites - videos, Tweets, and social links - bloggers have an opportunity to shine. Search engines place special emphasis on blogs as reliable sources for updated content, so as you continue post and link back to your main site, you increase the authority of your presence under your given expertise.

More Sites = More Search Real Estate

If your business has an established relationship with specific keywords, you may enjoy good results with your main site in search. The addition of an off-site blog, a Twitter account, or other sites dedicated to your business can help boost the relevance of your main site, and also keep your brand prominent. Have you ever performed a search that called up several sites belonging to one company? It may look excessive at first glance, but with all the top sites belonging to one group, there is little room if any for competitors.

New content drives people to a site. If your static main site is constructed to present your products and services, the supplementary blog keeps visitors returning. Social media may change the way people promote online, but blogging is a tried and true strategy one must continue so you can promote via social media. The support will help you main site in the long through links, relevance, and high search results.

Using Social Network Ranking

Social network ranking refers to using social networks to help your web pages rank. Social networks like Facebook are more instrumental in determining how your web page ranks than ever because search engines are placing more of the burden on ranking pages on the actually users of the search engines.

You can call it a cop out, but relying on users to do the ranking for you is a lot easier, not to mention it's effective. How does social network ranking work to help your rankings, though?

You've likely seen the Facebook "Like" button before. Not just on Facebook, but you've likely seen it on web pages themselves, as well. You can add the Facebook Like button to your site so that it appears on every single new page/post you make.

Then, when someone is signed into Facebook, comes to your post/page, they can click on that Like button on your site. Search engines recognize that someone "liked" your content, and this is the most unsoiled proof because it's an actual person giving their first hand thumbs up to vouch for the quality of the content, hence the emphasis which search engines are beginning to place on Facebook likes, Twitter's retweets, LinkedIn's share button, etc.

Success through social network ranking is dependent on two key components.

First, you've got to be creating content which people will want to share through social networks. Content which is unique, entertaining, informative, or some amalgamation of all of these is the goal.

Second, you've got to make it easy to share your content. This means making these buttons easily visible and accessible to your audience. Put them at the top or bottom of your content, or put them on both sides. Your reader shouldn't have to hunt for your social buttons; assume that you're dealing with the laziest people in the world and set it up accordingly.

Hopefully there won't be too many more of these networks to worry about as I know many webmaster's share sections are starting to get pretty crowded. Remember that only a small section of your readers will actually go ahead and share your content through one of these social networks even if you blow EVERYONE away who reads your content.

This is why you need to slim your page down and focus on just a few of these buttons to offer to your readers, not to mention it starts to get seriously cluttered by having them all.

I've put together a full on post for how to make a page on Facebook which includes how to add the Facebook like button to your site in addition to giving a number of tips on how to use Facebook for marketing purposes.

OR if you've already got a Facebook page or the like button on your website, check out these 8 ways of how to get Facebook likes so you can enjoy the full benefits of social network ranking.

Social Media Marketing Services - Read More About It

Various social media marketing services are available to facilitate collective conversations and interactions among many people online. These are usually made available for application in various social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. When people formulate opinions and contribute them as content to interactive platforms like online messaging boards, it constitutes participation in social media. When the posts made to these stimulating online conversations involve the promotion of a specific company or its products and services, it now becomes a form of social media marketing.

Today, more and more people turn to social networks for their information needs, and refer to other online consumers for opinions on specific products and services. This contributes in great part to the immense popularity that various social networking sites enjoy. Gone are the days when people literally hop from one shop to another just to source the products that they need. Today, everything is done online. Because most people now maintain accounts with Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace; or regularly visit YouTube and eBay, finding anything is very convenient.

A lot of special web-based tools are specifically developed to support social media marketing. These tools make it easy for users to share content and be able to interact with each other online and perform the various social media marketing functions such as communication and collaboration among different users, multimedia facilities, and the provision of an avenue for the exchange of reviews and opinions regarding products and services, and others.

Because practically everybody and everything is now online, various social media marketing services have become too familiar to all. They provide a forum where both marketers and consumers can mingle freely. They can share information about companies, events, products, and services. Social media marketers are then able to get a better reading on what their consumers really want; and this can greatly help improve the products they offer. This also helps improve the affected industry in general.

On the other hand, because of the ease with which opinions are given, it is possible for some scheming parties to misuse the system and deliberately malign and damage the reputation of competitors. Proper caution must also be exercised and safety measures must be put in place to prevent being victimized by such dastardly attacks.

Social media marketing is conducted in an informal and personal manner, unlike the more formal and less personal research, development, and promotions work commonly associated with traditional marketing methods. In addition, eCommerce stores, eBusinesses, and other similar websites today are making conscious efforts to make everything easy for their customers by incorporating tools, platforms and useful features into their sites including informative text content, videos, and images. They also allow users to post comments and independent reviews right on their websites. This way, both the merchant and other potential customers are benefitted from the experience of actual customers or site users.

Small businesses can benefit a lot from social media marketing. For one, the marketing objectives can be achieved at a much lower cost than traditional methods. Internet marketing strategies are also easier to develop and implement. Knowing how to optimize the use of the various social media marketing services available can tremendously boost your chances to succeed online.

Social Media Consulting and Advertising

For businesses trying to increase their visibility online, social media consulting is a must. Contractors that understand how to utilize social media to its greatest marketing potential can help businesses to make certain that they are getting traffic off of sites other than the search engines. Organic search engine optimization can take a very long time to improve but, with the right tools, proper social media usage can increase traffic very quickly, which offers a significant benefit to businesses and one that can come with fast rewards.

Effective Social Media Consulting

A business that is able to provide effective consulting for their clients will take into account the type of business that they are working with and how that business may best use the power of social networking to their advantage. There are several different social networks, though Facebook is the most widely used and the most popular. A good firm, however, will instruct your business on how to use other social networking services to tremendous advantage. Sometimes, having the edge over other businesses means taking advantage of resources that they neglect to use.

Social media consulting sometimes means teaching your business the etiquette and the most effective ways to use this technology to your advantage. Many businesses simply go ahead and start a page for their business on the social networks and begin using the services without really considering the fact that there are specific ways to use the services that are far more effective than others. In some cases, using these technologies incorrectly can end up actually costing your business favorability in the eyes of the people you advertise to. Making certain that your business is aware of the best ways to use these mediums is important for any company that provides effective consulting.

Following Through

Social media consulting also means explaining to your business the best way to make certain that the efforts that you make, and the budget that you dedicate, toward social media marketing are followed through on and that you have the opportunity to reap consistent rewards from them. Without doing so, you will find yourself in a position where you are investing money into an advertising program but not getting any real benefits out of it. Learning how to use social networks to provide sustained benefits is one of the most important services that consultants can provide.

If you are interested in moving into the world of social media consulting, you should contact a professional and determine how they may help your business. A professional consulting firm can make certain that your business gets the best results out of a social media advertising campaign without being in a position where you are spending a great deal of money on it without getting all of the benefits that are possible from this tremendously powerful and easy to use service. With one of these companies behind you, there is no limit to what you can do.

Social Blogging For Profit

After stopping two fruitless habits in my life recently, one being smoking and the other being a relationship of many years going nowhere, I found myself with the issue of what to do with my hands. You may laugh but as the two do go hand in hand, I decided to replace them, by taking up blogging.

As someone who is keen to share knowledge, guide others and provide sometimes too much information, I decided on a place that offered information on home based working ideas an example being 'What is Blogging and how can you make money from it'.

In my opinion, blogging can be divided into two areas, one being social and the other being profit, although the two do overlap in areas. The social side is a blog or weblog that records a journal of the blogger's views, thoughts and general impressions they have encountered in their daily life. Pictures are used to provide many a word and these blogs are distributed to friends and families or to anybody who may be interested.

The more profitable side to blogging is where the information is informative and is illustrated as perhaps an article, maybe about a particular subject or a brand for a company. These blogs are sometimes used to promote a new or existing product in a business and to encourage consumer interest by enabling interaction, feedback comments and therefore providing a more personal side.

Where the making money comes from is by incorporating advertising of other businesses products' or services by using banners in the form of affiliate marketing, where you get paid for any sales generated from the advertised product or the advertising company through the clicked banner. Sign up with Google AdSense program and your blog will display automated generated adverts from other sites that are modelled to reflect your business and create revenue via a Pay Per Click method, the amounts will vary according to the advert. Both of these example revenue streams can be used on any blog.

Finally by submitting articles to free article directories which hold a plethora of articles on many subjects by many authors, people can view and add them to their blogs and they can provide a revenue stream by driving more traffic to the author's blog via the author signature resource box which has to be included while increasing visitors to the new blog and thus creating sales and therefore making profit.

Is It Possible To Make Money Blogging Anymore?

Once upon a time the concept of being able to make money blogging was a simple one, get yourself a blog, add some content and advertising and you were well on your way to becoming rich... or at least that's what all of those salespages would have you believe. The truth of the matter is that while it may have become more difficult to make money online using a blog the people that will be the most successful (and have always been the most successful) are those that don't buy into the push button hype but follow a sound system designed to help them to make money blogging.

So you might ask how does one find a system that works when there are so many different programs out there that claim to be the be all and end all of 'make money blogging' programs. Well the first thing you need to do is take a little time to look at yourself before you even get started trying to find a program that will be successful, after all if you aren't approaching this process with the right mindset you may as well not even bother starting in the first place... YOU are the secret ingredient in any money making program, get that part of the equation wrong and it's all over.

Now while you are looking at yourself in the mirror here are some important questions that you should be asking yourself if you are truly going to stand any chance to make money blogging; firstly, what is it exactly that is driving you to look for ways to make money outside of your current job or usual income? What is it that makes you get up in the morning and do whatever it is that you do, basically what motivates you to succeed? It is absolutely vital that you can identify those triggers in your life that make you want to succeed or make a change and then to tap into them as you strive to make money blogging, without them driving you forward you are doomed to failure.

Next, think about how much time you are going to dedicate to your dream, there is no such thing as a free lunch and there is no way that you are going to suddenly become rich overnight just by thinking about it. You need to plan your approach to your blogging business and make the time to do all those tasks that any successful 'make money blogging' program will tell you to do, without time and effort none of the programs available on the market will make you any money regardless of how good they are. Be realistic with your time too, don't promise to do ten hours a day and then get disillusioned when you can only do one and give up, the best laid plans are those that are able to be followed.

Lastly, don't be afraid to reward yourself when you stick to your plan or accomplish a goal. These are times to celebrate and to enjoy, reward yourself with a night out or a small gift as it can be incredibly motivating to cross something off a list and to be thankful for it. Building a blogging business doesn't have to be all about pain and sacrifice, after all the end goal is a better life not one that you end up regretting, keep that in mind when you are working on your blogs and remember that being able to make money blogging will change your life if you are prepared to put in the effort.

The Role of Social Media Application Developers

Social media websites like Facebook serve as major business avenues. They are indeed cornerstones of the business arena today, and have become increasingly influential. While organizations and individuals have explored almost all other available resources including online ones, social media websites became the latest attraction not so long ago. However, more and more people are realizing their potential, and social networks such as Facebook remain a key attraction.

While Facebook and other similar websites are talked about a lot, it is the Facebook developer that is not always given due attention. In the media especially, there is a lack of appreciation for how much these professionals do. Indeed, Facebook developers are the ones behind creating the best applications for individuals and businesses. They are the ones who develop the applications and synchronize them with websites with perfect functionality. What they do at the technical level can be very complex for those who aren't aware of their role. To the developers themselves as professionals, it would obviously be far simpler; nevertheless, the extensive tasks, time and effort put in altogether make it all a tedious job.

While some Facebook application developers say that the majority of Facebook applications are simple to create, there are other applications that stretch over several months and require a great deal of care and precision. Indeed, spending such a lengthy period of time on developing a Facebook app can cause a person to lose his or her focus. This is why such projects require careful management in order to make sure that time and other resources are well managed and nothing is squandered. The role of a project manager becomes crucial in this regard, and as much as a developer or developers are held responsible for the end product, the project manager is also accountable.

Developing Facebook apps has become a highly specialized process in business today. There are many companies around today that deal in this particular aspect of software and application development. Teams that work within these companies comprise highly skilled individuals who are able to create applications that run smoothly on Facebook. A major consideration in this type of application development lies in understanding the use of APIs (Application Programing Interface). These are most important for calling data that is crucial to an application running successfully. Quite often, there are technical errors to contend with (bugs). Once these are removed after troubleshooting and QA processes, a complete product can be delivered to a customer.

Does Your Blog Make Money?

Is A Blog A Money Spinner?

Can you make money from a blog or is it just a pipe dream? Well, lots of people have become very successful from blogging, you just have to know how.

There are lots of ways to monetize a blog, but most of them won't make you rich overnight.

You can apply for an Adsense account from Google and get paid a commission every time someone clicks on one of the ads.

However, if you don't have a good page ranking and lots of traffic, you won't get many clicks. NEVER click on your own ads to boost your earnings. Google will find out and you will pay for the privilege.

You can become an Amazon Associate, but again without hordes of traffic, you won't make much money.

It is true that there are SOME people who make a full time living from the above two methods, BUT they have high ranking pages and tons of traffic every day.

Furthermore, they work very hard and spend a lot of time to keep their page rankings. It may seem an easy way to make money, but how much time are you willing to spend doing it?

Another way to monetize your blog is by affiliate marketing. Again, this has been very lucrative for some of the successful online marketers. However, they are well established and well known so what chance do you have of competing with them.

You need to get your brand well known and become established in your field, you need to be known as an expert in that field.

Another way to monetize your blog is create your own product. Then you need to dive traffic to your website.

Your blog needs to be updated regularly with good quality content. Make sure your content is original. Make your content informative, give tips to help people.

Join forums and make posts with your link at the end. Be constructive, answer questions, become known and people will check out your site.

Backlinks are a good way to improve your page ranking. Visit other peoples blogs and leave a comment. Don't just say 'Nice blog' or 'Liked your post', make your comments worthwhile and you will soon have people visiting your blog and leaving comments.

Use keywords effectively, but do not over do it. Filling your post with keywords detracts from the meaning and it is also known as 'keyword stuffing'.

So why are all these brands using mammals and birds in their brand images?

Different mammals represent different qualities. Associating those qualities with your brand can help you convey that message to your customers without the use of words.

Here are some great ideas for using mammals and birds in your company image:

1.Eagle:
This bird is known for its power, authority and domination. An eagle is perfect to represent your brand if you want to tell your customer who the boss is. For a political party or an airline corporation you can use an image of an eagle with its wings out stretched. Or you can use an image of a red eyed fierce eagle for your university sports team to intimidate your opponents.

2.Cats:
Cats are known to be clever, shrewd, sleek and stylish. Of course, this group also includes lions, cheetahs and leopards who have been ruling the business pictorial world like a lion rules a jungle. Many famous companies that have used cats in their brand marks are Puma, jaguar and MGM. Horses symbolize nobility, power, grace and freedom due to which two famous brands, Ford and Ferrari have used horse symbols in their brand image. But you can also use horse in any other business image besides the car industry. For a ranch, you can use an image of a horse running wild in the field. Similarly, for a gents clothing line, you can use an illustrated image of an arrogant looking horse.

4.Dogs:
Popularly known as a man's best friend, a dog is famous for its loyalty, friendship and watch guarding. It is a universal animal logo if you want to portray the message of trust and dependability to your target audience. For example, if you are designing a brand mark for an animal center you can use a paw print of a dog. Similarly, for a home inspections company, you can use the illustration of an alert Labrador standing guard.

5.Fish:
They may be small but the impact they create can certainly be big. Using Fish can make your trade mark design look cute, creative and imaginative. Not only are fish images perfect to represent the aquatic world, but it is also appropriate for a restaurant, a technological company or an advertising agency. For example, for a restaurant, you can use an illustration of fish skeleton in the brand name. Similarly, for a technological company, you can use a colorful 3 dimensional image of fish.
